MELLOTT — Mrs. Anneitta Carpenter Hellquist, 75, of Cedar Lake, formerly of Mellott, died early Monday (Dec. 16, 1974) at St. Catherine's Hospital in East Chicago 12 days after heart surgery. Born Jan. 28, 1899, she was the daughter of Dr. J. and Stella Carman Shepherd. On June 24, 1916, in Mellott, she was married to Reed Carpenter, who died in 1958. On June 11, 1960, at St. John, she was married to Clarence R. Hellquist, who survives. Mrs. Hellquist attended school at Mellott. Survivors include four sons, John R. Carpenter of Houston, Tex., Robert C. Carpenter of Cedar Lake, Charles R. Carpenter of Hammond and William G. Carpenter of Highland; eight grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Clarence Huber Funeral Home at Hammond. Burial will be near St. John. Friends will be received from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday. --waw
